The house is quiet and I could not think of a better time to sink into my book study and get my gratitude journal going. I have been journaling off and on since my Mother passed away 7 and half years ago. At first it was just about wanting my daughter to know my Mother or have my thoughts and memories on paper to read some day. I have jotted down funny little things the kids have said and done. Learning experiences, the happy times and even about the tough times in hopes that one day it will help my kiddos or even me to reflect back. Since I have been reading this new book "One thousand gifts" for a book study at church it has got me thinking a lot about challenging myself to write down 1000 things I am thankful for. It is kind of going to be mixed in with all the other "randomosity" of the rest of my journal.
The first thing I thought about this morning when I woke was to make sure I put a note in Gracie's lunch box. I think back to my childhood and all the sweet moments my Mom took to make a little but of nothing into something! All the little things that added up to be so special and meaningful. So number one on my list is going to be ....
#1) The little things that bring so much joy that you can give, receive and share.
Like a little note in a lunch box!
